Can't say we agree with the other reviews. I can say this place gives you the largest beverage serving size I've ever seen. The glass of water is large enough to swim in or refuel your camel with and would give a Big Gulp drink envy. What a great concept not having hunt your server down for a refill of water. The menu has a robust selection of reasonably priced Italian favorites. I would rate the rest of the dining experience as fair to ok. I had fried calamari as an appetizer, which wasn't the best or worst I've had and I would say it was ok. We shared the spinach and artichoke dip, which had a good flavor but was unappetizing and a chore to eat because the spinach was in whole leaf pieces, there wasn't enough of the spinach in the dish and there was too much cheese sauce. The dish could be improved by chopping the spinach and changing the spinach to cheese sauce ratio and it would probably be great, given the garlicky taste. The pizza, our main course, was a half pepperoni and half plain and was disappointing for two reasons: One was our appetizers took an approximate 30 minutes to reach our table and the pizza took an approximate 32 minutes, which meant you basically got your appetizers and main course at the same time. Ironically, the pizza was undercooked. The mistiming detracted from the dining experience and made it difficult to gauge if you would have actually liked the pizza had it been cooked a few minutes more, and not been served at the same time. The service was good with the exception of the mistiming of the food, which may not have been the servers fault. Ironically, the server never did ask how things were. The place appears to be clean and neat inside and is definitely not a dive. We had no wait getting a table inside or out during prime time on a Friday night. We decided to hunt down dessert elsewhere and try a new ice cream parlor that happened to have exceptionally bad ice cream, but that's a complete separate experience. Excellent food. Prompt delivery. Friendly service. I order from this place at least twice a month and will continue to. The pizza is the best in pompano. I highly recommend it.

Tucked away little treasure of a restaurant in a mall. You'd think it might be typical "mall food" but you are soo sooo wrong. The owner is from Italy and every item on the menu is cooked to perfection, not heavy "american italian food" but the way italian food was meant to taste. The Amato steak and Amato chicken is amazing, the homemade vinaigrette - delicious, the eggplant dish (I don't remember the name but its a typical italian summer dish) was so interesting and yummy. Everything on this menu is amazing, fresh, tasty and perfectly prepared. I think its going to be my go-to spot weekly, and on top of that they also deliver.

I've yet to eat at the restaurant, but if the quality of the service and of the pizza is the same as the delivery, I know I'll leave happy. I ordered a Margherita pie for delivery and requested that it be cut in a heart shape. The gentleman on the phone was extremely helpful and kind about my unusual request. Will definitely order again!

Unfortunately Amato's just doesn't seem to click and things don't seem all that tasty specially prepared as they once were when I hit them with 5 Stars. Still, for what they are, a simple Italian restaurant stuck in what is basically a mall alleyway with reasonable prices, not bad. They're veal francese that once had such a distinctive fresh lemon zest about it just didn't seem to be up to par during my last visit.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE. I spoke with Kenny on the phone because I wanted to get some prices for catering for an event my company was throwing. I called around 2 p.m. That being said Kenny was unbelievably rude and rushing me off the phone constantly cutting me off and being an embarrassment for this company. Work on your customer service because you just lost a HUGE partnership

I have downgraded my 5 star review to 2 stars. We ordered a few weeks ago and weren't happy with the food, however we figured it was a fluke and gave it another try, but our dinner last night was even worse, I am afraid Amato has downgraded their ingredients and recipes, a mistake many restaurants make to cut cost. Everything tasted like butter. The wings didn't have any sauce flavor and were overly greasy, tasted like butter. The once rich-creamy and delicious alfredo sauce has been replaced by a white butter-flavored sauce. My boyfriend had the spinach dip, it had a liquid consistency and didn't taste right to me, I am glad I didn't eat more of it because my boyfriend ate all of it and most of the wings and had some fettuccine and was sick all night. I am sad to say, I won't be ordering from Amato's again.

Yelpers sorry I have to disagree with all of the previous reviews because I was not impressed with this place all! Both the pizza and garlic rolls were undercooked, u was bummed! The one positive about Amato's is overall their sauce is pretty good so perhaps sticking to an entree is your best bet..

We were greeted with a smile and sat outside, still in our bathing suits. Our server, it was her first day but you would not have known it, she fit right into the atmosphere of friendly, happy, enjoyable. I could have eaten the whole large pizza myself but instead shared it with the family. Try the meatball - scrumptious.

Decided to sit inside because there were alot of people sitting outside and no one inside. The booths all had crumbs or something on them, so I ended up giving up on finding a clean one and wiped one of the booths off. The tables were clean, though. The waiter, I thought, was on the unpleasant side. He didn't check on us much. I got the Amato sampler. It comes with an assortment of things such as meatballs, sausage, lasagna, etc. The way they serve it kind of makes me chuckle though, because it is all submerged in marina sauce and then baked with a layer of mozarella cheese on top. In effect, you have to fish out each part of the dish and kind of guess at which you're about to eat. The food was good, though. In my opinion, my meatballs are hard to beat, and I was impressed with theirs. The only thing, though, was that the marina sauce was ALMOST tasty. It's just missing something for me, I think it isn't robust and tomato-ey enough. It could be that they make it from fresh tomatoes and the tomatoes they got werent the best. Not sure. It's so close to home that we would probably come back, however I definitely wouldn't sit inside again. The music they had playing was something awful.

I love it when I can find friendly wait staff in SoFlo - such a rare discovery. Certainly found it here. Once we ordered, we were quickly greeted with HUGE drinks and a basket of warm garlic buns/bread. Wowza! We practically licked it clean. I had the Italian sampler which was good. Pasta was good too. But if I returned I would get the lunch special which included 1/2 sandwich, pizza and salad or soup for $6.99.

This restaurant replaced Rotelli in the Pompano Citi Centre. I originally thought it was Rotelli changing their name (again), and kind of wrote it off as being just another chain restaurant. I'm so glad I decided to try it out, because this place is truly impressive! It's NOT a chain (the owner's name is Amato, from Sicily), and the food is absolutely delicious. We started out by ordering the mozzarella sticks. The marinara is homemade, and so are the sticks (they are not those frozen kind you can get at Arby's and half of the so-called Italian restaurants around here). They were awesome. Then we had side salads, and I got the homemade balsamic vinaigrette. It was tempting to lick that dressing off the plate, it was that good. For my entree, I ended up getting a personal thin crust pizza, and it was really good. I took half of it home for lunch the next day. I will most definitely be back here... I really hope people give this place a try and forget about Rotelli!

I tried it after seeing all the great reviews but was totally disappointed. Maybe it was because we ordered the whole wheat pizza, but our pie was lackluster and uninspiring. It wasn't as good as Dominos.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
